Divining Dante

Celebrating Seven Centuries of Dante Alighieri

World-renowned Italian poet, Dante Alighieri, has inspired writers and artists around the globe. To celebrate his 700th anniversary in September 2021, Divining Dante, a new anthology of poetry responding to Dante’s Divine Comedy was published by Recent Work Press.

20 of the contributors, including poets from Ireland and Italy, recorded their poems for inclusion in the poetry jukebox.  A poetry jukebox with a selection of the Divining Dante poems will be ‘resident’ at the Italian Institute of Culture for three months from March to May 2023.

Launch at 18.30 on Thursday 2nd March at an event co-organised by the IIC Dublin, Irish PEN/ PEN na hÉireann (https://www.irishpen.com/) and Quotidian.

It will be attended by Dantean scholars from across the island of Ireland, as well as contributors to the Divining Dante anthology. Artist Liam O Broin will also exhibit some of his lithographs inspired by The Divine Comedy.
